What is AI visibility?
AI visibility is how often your brand, product, or website is mentioned when AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini answer questions in your niche. As AI-generated answers replace traditional search results, being mentioned (or not) in those answers directly affects your traffic and authority.
Google AI Overviews
Google's AI Overviews appear at the very top of search results — above all organic links. They summarise an answer and cite sources. Brands cited in AI Overviews get a massive trust signal and often see click-through rates increase even without a top-3 ranking. This tool checks whether your brand appears in that answer box.
Why test Claude?
Claude is one of the most widely used AI assistants. When someone asks Claude about tools, services, or topics in your niche, does your brand come up? If not, competitors are being recommended instead. Claude's knowledge comes from training data — if your brand has strong online presence and coverage, it is more likely to appear.
Choosing good queries
Use queries your potential customers actually type — not branded terms. Try: "best [tool type] for [use case]", "how to [accomplish a goal]", "what is the best [category] tool". Avoid very broad queries ("SEO") or very specific branded ones ("KeyForRiches pricing") — focus on commercial and informational intent questions where an AI would naturally recommend a tool or brand.
Improving your AI visibility
AI models learn from content indexed on the web. To improve visibility: publish high-quality content that covers your niche deeply, earn mentions and links from authoritative sites, get reviewed and listed on tool directories and comparison sites, and build a strong brand signal through consistent online presence. AI Overviews cite pages — rank well in Google and you are more likely to be cited.
Limitations to know
Claude's answers vary — a single query may get different responses in different sessions. AI Overviews only appear for some queries (Google decides which ones). A "miss" does not mean your brand is invisible — it may simply mean AI chose a different framing that time. Run tests across multiple queries for a realistic picture, and re-test monthly to track trends.
