How to Verify and Review Anchor Text
Use the Anchor Text Analyzer to check known candidate source pages and review how they link to your target.
What This Tool Checks
The Anchor Text Analyzer does not discover backlinks across the web. You supply a target domain or URL path and up to 50 source-page URLs. The tool fetches each supplied source and extracts links whose destination contains the normalized target.
For each match, it reports the visible anchor text, destination URL, rel value, and whether the link is treated as dofollow or as nofollow, sponsored, or UGC. A source that cannot be fetched is reported as an error rather than a confirmed absence of links.
How to Use the Anchor Text Analyzer
Enter the domain or URL path you expect each link to point to. Paste one candidate source URL per line and click Analyze Anchor Text. The summary reports successfully extracted links, unique anchor phrases, dofollow/nofollow totals, and source-page errors. The results-by-source section shows the exact findings for each supplied page.
Use Download CSV to preserve the source URL, HTTP status, anchor text, rel value, nofollow classification, and destination URL. If a row says Error, retry it later or inspect the source manually; an error means the page could not be checked, not that no backlink exists.
Interpreting Anchor Distribution
Branded, naked-URL, partial-match, descriptive, and generic anchors can all appear naturally. The aggregate list helps you see repeated wording across the candidate pages you supplied, but it is not a complete backlink-profile analysis unless your source list itself is complete. Review anchor relevance in context and avoid treating any single phrase or rel attribute as a standalone quality score.
